Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Four people treated for smoke inhalation after fire in Wingham
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire involving an outbuilding in Staple Road, Wingham near Canterbury. Crews arrived to find a wooden outbuilding well alight. The fire created heavy smoke logging which affected neighbouring properties. Three men and a woman presented with the effects of breathing in smoke. Firefighters worked with paramedics from SECAMB to give the casualties oxygen therapy as a precaution, the casualties were taken to hospital by ambulances. Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and a main jet to extinguish the fire. The outbuilding measured approx. 12metres x 3metres. The cause of the blaze isn't known at this stage.
