Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Update: Firefighters tackle blaze near Tonbridge

Update at 1900 on 5 March: 
 
The earlier advice for people to close windows and doors due to smoke from a fire in Five Oak Green near Tonbridge has been lifted, as the fire is now out. Four fire engines and a bulk water carrier attended, and crews used hose reel jets, main jets and foam to extinguish the blaze. There were no reported injuries.

People living in the Paddock Wood and Nettlestead area are advised to close windows and doors due to smoke blowing in that direction. Kent Fire and Rescue Service is responding to a fire in Whetsted Road, Five Oak Green near Tonbridge, involving a large quantity of plastic fruit containers. Four fire engines are on the scene and crews are using a hose reel jets and main jets to attack the blaze.
