Incident
Fire in Maidstone involving sheds, fancing and a tree
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire in Sycamore Crescent in Maidstone involving two sheds, fencing and a large conifer tree. Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire that is believed to have been started accidentally. The blaze is thought to have been started because of an out of control bonfire.

Firefighters are urging people with gardens who plan to build bonfires to follow some straightforward guidance to make sure the fire is built safely. The most important advice is that you are keeping watch of the fire at all times.
