Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Bedroom fire - Sheerness
Incident details
Firefighters were called to reports of a bedroom alight in a property on Alexandra Road, Sheerness. 
 
Crews extinguished the blaze with a hose reel jet from a hydrant supply while wearing breathing apparatus. A positive pressure ventilation fan was then used to clear smoke from the property. 
 
Firefighters also checked adjoining properties' roof spaces to make sure there was no fire spread. 
 
There are no reported injuries and the cause is currently unknown but will be investigated.
