Incident
Teenager cut free from car after crash - Ivychurch
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a car crash on New Church Lane involving a single car. An injured occupant of the car had walked away and found shelter in another vehicle whilst waiting for the ambulance to arrive. Paramedics assessed the female teenager and suspected she was suffering from spinal injuries so requested the help of KFRS to remove her from the second vehicle. Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment and small tools to remove rear seats and a roof rack to access the teenager. They also used bariatric lifting equipment to assist paramedics in removing her onto a longboard. The teenager was then placed in the care of paramedics. Crews made the scene safe.
