Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Large fire at Ridham Dock, Iwade near Sittingbourne
Incident details
UPDATE 8am: Kent Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the large blaze at Ridham Dock by 12.39am. They spent approximately two hours damping down and extinguishing remaining hot spots and the site was handed back to on site personnel at 4.09am this morning. The fire destroyed a number of machines and 30 per cent of the building. 
 
Fire crews were called to reports of fire in machinery in a building at Ridham Dock, Iwade near Sittingbourne. 
 
A single storey industrial building approximately 50m x 100m is heavily smoke-logged. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are making good progress tackling the blaze using hose reel jets from a hydrant supply. A ship currently docked is also assisting in the firefighting action. 
 
All persons are accounted for and there are no reports of any injuries.
