News release text
Hundreds of people who enjoyed the Brands Hatch Modified Live event got to see the dangerous side of poor driving as Kent firefighters demonstrated the aftermath of a car crash.
Alongside colleagues from Kent Police and St John’s Ambulance, crews worked with hydraulic cutting equipment to free a mock casualty and share road safety messages with the audience of around 500 people.
Dartford Crew Manager Gary Miller said: “We thank the event organisers for letting us attend as it was a great opportunity to provide road safety advice to a target audience of drivers aged from 17 to 30-years-old; warning them of the dangers of driving too fast and highlighting the impact upon the families of those involved in a serious road traffic collision.”
The Modified Live event took place last weekend (29 Sept) as part of a series of shows held at regional race circuit venues taking place around the UK which are run to gather and celebrate modified vehicles.
