Saturday 16 November
11am - 2pm
The Road Safety Experience, Marconi Way, Rochester ME1 2XQ
Every year Kent’s firefighters carry out more than 1,000 road crash rescues, and in a bid to drive that number down and make the county’s roads safer, we and our partners Kent County Council, Medway Council and Kent Police are launching our first joint road safety event - Road Savvy. It'll be a chance to help change the way people think about driving and impact on their behaviours behind the wheel, and it's all FREE!
What to expect...
There will be plenty to see and do with opportunities to test driving skills through physical and mental challenges, as well as chances to have a go in a car simulator, and even experience the force of a crash on a seatbelt sled.
Parents with younger children won’t want to miss out on free child car seat safety advice too, which will provide peace of mind that they’re fitted and working correctly. We will also be showing our short live action film and theatre show, but due to the sensitive content included in it, those who want to watch must be over 14-years-old.
There will be plenty more on offer from pedestrian and bike safety to vehicle safety advice and online driving challenges.
There will be three one-hour sessions running at the following times 11am, 12pm and 1pm, with 100 people able to secure a place on each. If you want to attend then simply book your free tickets* for your preferred session via Eventbrite by clicking the links below.
Refreshments and free parking will be available on site.
*As this is a ticketed event, only those who register their place in advance will be permitted entry.
