Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) is excited to announce that for the first time since the pandemic, a number of fire stations will be throwing open their doors to the public for a string of summer open day events.

Held on selected dates during July and August 2022, families and friends alike are invited to book their FREE tickets to this year’s open days to meet firefighters and take part in an exciting day full of educational activities.

The open days not only provide local residents with a fantastically fun and free day out, but also teach the public life-saving fire and road safety advice, through firefighter displays, the Byrnes family show, hands-on games and the activity trail. Little ones can collect a stamp for each question completed on the activity trail as they make their way through the station.

Each open day will be open from 11am to 3pm, and spaces are completely FREE but please note that tickets MUST BE BOOKED in advance. It is essential that tickets for each member of your family is booked via KFRS’ dedicated link. If you do not have a ticket, you may not be able to attend.

Ann Millington, Chief Executive at KFRS said:

“Our fire stations are so excited to throw open their doors for our latest set of fun-filled open day events. Due to the pandemic, we’ve been holding online open days and other events at a much smaller scale in the last few years – so we can’t wait to see everyone’s smiling faces at our bigger, ticketed summer open days this year.”

“The open days have been improved even further, with fun-filled activities to take part in, and it’s just a great opportunity for the public to meet and chat with our KFRS firefighters, colleagues and volunteers. Every activity at our open days will be linked to safety, and so we hope everyone will walk away from our events not only reflecting on what a great day they had – but also with some vital safety tips they’ll take home and remember forever.”

Demand for tickets will be high, so if you book yours and find out later that you are not able to attend, please let KFRS know or cancel your tickets so that they can release spaces on the waiting list for tickets.
