Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a house fire in Robins Close, in Lenham, Maidstone.
Three fire engines attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
Sadly, a man died at the scene.
An investigation into the incident is underway, however the cause is believed to be accidental.
