Our Enforcement Policy

The Fire Safety Order 2005, as amended, places a duty upon Responsible Persons/duty holders and those accountable to make sure their premises and people are safe in case of fire. Kent Fire and Rescue have a duty to enforce this.

We always strive to support responsible persons (RPs) to ensure fire safety compliance and prevent fires. If all attempts to assist RPs have been exhausted, or where there is an immediate risk to life, the Authority may choose to take enforcement action.
