Road crash rescue - Wye near Ashford
0945 update from Kent Police:
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witness to a fatal road traffic collision.
Kent Police was called at 2.16am on Sunday 7 December to the A28 in Wye, Ashford.
A red Peugeot was travelling from Ashford to Canterbury when, for reasons unknown lost control and collided with a blue BMW travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Peugeot, a man in his 20s died at the scene and the driver of the BMW has been taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The road is currently closed to allow officers to carry out their investigation.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended a serious road crash involving two private vehicles on the A28 at Wye. Fire crews carried out vehicle stabilisation and cutting before handing two casualties, one from each vehicle, to the care of paramedics. Kent Police is investigating the cause of the incident.
The A28 is currently closed and diversions are in place, motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
