Incident
Dog rescued from ledge at Minster-on-Sea
Incident details
Firefighters rescued Poppy, a Border Collie, who had ventured too far down a cliff at Warden Point, Minster-on-Sea and was trapped on a narrow ledge. They went over the cliff edge on a harness using a winch. They were able to put Poppy into an equipment bag and haul her back up the cliff and return her to her thankful owner.
KFRS Watch Manager, Andrew Bridger-Smart said, “We were able to reach Poppy and bring her up very quickly. The owner did the right thing in ringing us and not attempting a rescue, which could have put them at risk of falling down the cliff and creating a much more serious incident.”
