Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Maidstone industrial unit fire
Incident details
8am update 
KFRS firefighters are still at the incident. They are using a height vehicle to cut away panelling from the building to expose and prevent any further fire spread.  They have used fogspikes and COBRA from the roof to bring down the temperature and fight the fire externally and firefighters with breathing apparatus to tackle the fire from inside.  Positive pressure ventilation fans are being used to clear the smoke.  They have managed to prevent the fire spreading to neighbouring units. 
KFRS is working with nearby businesses to provide support to minimise disruption to their businesses. 
6am Update 
KFRS crews were called at 3.18 to a fire in an industrial unit in Bircholt Road, Maidstone.  Firefighters are using breathing apparatus, and jets to tackle the fire the fire.  A height vehicle is at the scene being used as an observation platform.
