Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Whetsted road crash (A228)
Incident details
Fire crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to free a man, thought to be in his late 20's, after a crash on the A228, Whetsted Road, Tonbridge. The vehicle was on its roof in a ditch. Firefighters removed the side of the vehicle and worked with ambulance crews to lift the man from his car using a spinal longboard. He was then taken to hospital. 
 
Fire crews remained at the scene, making it safe until approximately 7.20am.
