Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Tent fire in Selstead
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to Canterbury Road, Selstead to reports of a man suffering burns following a fire in a tent. The man, in his late 30's is thought to have suffered burns to his head, chest, back, arms and face. The fire is believed to have been caused by a leaking calor gas bottle inside the tent, which ignited when the man lit a cigarette. He was taken to hospital by ambulance crews. 
 
The fire which was extinguished prior to KFRS's arrival also destroyed the tent.
