Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Crews called to sinking barge
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a sinking barge at Fishermans Wharf, Sandwich. 
 
Two fire engines attended, as well as a water safety team, and crews used a submersible pump to remove as much water as possible for the houseboat to be able to float. 
 
The vessel was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
