Update: 

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of undergrowth alight off Dane Valley Road, in Margate. 

Six fire engines, two all-terrain vehicles and the technical rescue unit attended, and crews extinguished the flames using hose reel jets and main jets. 

No injuries were reported. 

It’s believed the fire was started deliberately. 

The advice for people to close windows and doors is no longer in place. Please share this update with anyone in the affected area who might not have access to the internet. Thank you.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service has been called to reports of undergrowth alight off Dane Valley Road, in Margate. 

Six fire engines and a all-terrain vehicle are in attendance and crews are using hose reel jets and flexi packs to extinguish the flames. 

Due to smoke coming from the incident, people living and working nearby are asked to close their windows and doors as a precaution.
