NOTE: ADDRESS LOCATION CORRECTED!Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire in a bedroom on the second floor of Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Fridd Lane, Hothfield near Ashford. All persons were accounted for and a partial evacuation of the building affected was carried out safely. One person was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and a large ventilation fan was used to clear the affected part of the building of smoke. Firefighters assisted staff at the facility to help residents with welfare and emotional support.
