Crews have now left the scene and the area has been made safe. 

Update at 11.25am on 18 December: 

Kent Fire and Rescue Service remains at the scene of a fire at an industrial premises off the A20 London Road, Swanley, but the surrounding roads, including the M20, M25 and A20, will shortly be reopened. 

Crews are continuing to dampen down to ensure the site is safe. 

Initial update: 

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is responding to reports of a fire at an industrial premises off the A20 London Road, Swanley. 

Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier are at the scene, where crews have extinguished a fire involving a gas cylinder and are now cooling the surrounding area to ensure the site is safe. The technical rescue unit is also in attendance. 

No injuries have been reported. 

As a precaution, a 200-metre cordon has been put in place and nearby commercial premises have been evacuated. 

Affected areas of the A20, M25 and M20, near to the Swanley Interchange, have been closed while emergency services continue to work at the scene.
