Update 22.10: 

A field fire off Church Road, in Cobham, Gravesend, is now out and firefighters are dampening down any remaining hot spots.

At the height of the incident, 15 fire engines, a bulk water carrier, four all-terrain vehicles and the technical rescue unit were in attendance. 

No injuries have been reported and the cause is not yet known. 

The earlier advice for people in the area to close windows and doors is no longer in place. Please share this update with any neighbours or loved ones in the affected area, who might not have access to the internet or social media. Thank you.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is in attendance at a field fire off Church Road in Cobham, Gravesend. 

Fifteen fire engines have been sent to the scene, as well as a bulk water carrier and the technical rescue unit. 

People living and working in the immediate area are advised to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution, due to smoke coming from the incident.
