Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a kitchen fire at a house in Lines Terrace, Chatham. 

Two fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

There were no reported injuries and the cause is believed to be accidental and linked to cooking overheating in an oven. 

The damage was limited to the kitchen due to the occupier closing the internal kitchen door.
