The fire is now out. Around 15 acres of stubble was destroyed by the fire, the equivalent of seven football pitches. The blaze was contained to field of origin and is thought to have been caused by a fault with a combine harvester.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is currently at the scene of a field fire on Exedown Road in Kemsing, Sevenoaks. Six fire engines are in attendance, and crews are working to extinguish the blaze, which has spread to a field of cut corn. No casualties have been reported.
