Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of an out of control bonfire which had spread to nearby trees and an out building on Gore Street, Monkton, near Ramsgate.

Two fire engines attended and crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

There are no reported injuries.

Following this incident, crews are reminding people to:

• Keep bonfires to a manageable size, and build them clear of property and greenery
• Supervise the burning at all times  
• When having a bonfire always keep a bucket of water or hosepipe nearby
• If a bonfire gets out of control, move to safe place and call 999
