Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a vehicle stuck in floodwater off Darman Lane, in Paddock Wood, Tonbridge.

Two fire engines and the water safety unit were sent to the scene, where crews wearing drysuits helped four occupants of the car to safety. They were passed into the care of SECAmb paramedics as a precaution.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area while it remains flooded, which is likely to be overnight, and to check for traffic updates before travelling.

People are also reminded not to drive or walk through floodwater, as it can often be a lot deeper than it looks.
