Maidstone

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a large amount of wooden crates alight off Linton Hill, in Linton, Maidstone. 

Five fire engines were sent to the scene, as well as a bulk water carrier and the technical rescue unit. 

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze using hose reel jets and compressed air foam. Crews also used a Telehandler machine to create a fire break and stop the flames from spreading. 

No injuries were reported. 

The cause is not yet known but is believed to be suspicious.
