Fire at takeaway shop in Chatham

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at a takeaway shop in Walderslade Road, Chatham. 

Three fire engines and a height vehicle were sent to the scene, as well as the technical rescue unit, where crews wearing breathing apparatus worked to extinguish a fire in the roof space, before cutting away any remaining hot spots.

One person inhaled smoke during the incident and another person sustained burns to their hands and foot. Both people were passed into the care of SECAmb. 

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but is believed is accidental.
