Agricultural units fire in Hinxhill (Ashford)
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service is dealing with a fire in the roof of an agricultural building in Hinkxhill,(north east of Ashford). The single storey building, (measures approximately 30m x 50m) is used as storage units.
Around 50 firefighters, eight fire engines, a height vehicle, command support unit and two bulk water carriers are currently at the scene. Fire crews were called to the property just after 3.30am. They are wearing breathing apparatus and using four hose jets to fight the blaze, these are more powerful than hose reels and pass larger quantities of water.
Firefighters have sectorised the incident and managed to gain access to the units and are working hard to stop the fire spreading.
