Thatched properties

Although thatch fires are not common, when they do happen they can be very serious. Over 90 per cent of thatch roof fires start as a result of a faulty flue or chimney, and because the thatch is designed to repel water which makes extinguishing such fires difficult.

Take a look at our thatched properties section for advice on how to help prevent fires in thatched properties and keep yourself, home and business safe.
