Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Crews tackling bonfire in Sittingbourne
Incident details
Fire crews were called to Chaffes Lane, Sittingbourne just before 1pm to reports of an out of control bonfire. Firefighters are using a hose reel to bring the fire under control. 
 
You can get rid of household or garden waste by composting or recycling it. Rather than having a bonfire, why not contact your local council to find out how to dispose of garden waste and about recycling in your area.
