LATEST UPDATE: Flat fire at Holborough Lakes
UPDATE: Snodland fire investigation 9am (22 September)
The extent of damage following the fire at Holborough Lakes on Saturday 16 September, has meant that the ability to carry out physical excavations has been extremely limited. However, there have been a number of video and social media images supplied, alongside witness statements from local residents that has enabled fire investigators to view the fire in the very early stages to verify a number of areas.
At this stage we are not able to determine the cause of the fire as the investigation has not concluded. However we can state that the fire did start on a third floor balcony of a flat at Lambe Close, Manley Boulevard, Holborough Lakes, Snodland.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious; however, KFRS continues to liaise with local police officers as required.
We are all aiming to conclude the investigation as quickly as possible, but at this stage we are not able to give a date for completion.
KFRS officers will continue working with the building owners and Tonbridge and Malling Building Control Department to examine if there are any areas of the buildings performance during the fire that warrant further investigation.
