Bonfire spreads to summerhouse in Tonbridge
Kent Fire and Rescue Service is reminding the public to build bonfires well away from sheds, property and foliage following a summerhouse fire on Brenchley Road in Tonbridge.
Two fire engines were sent to the incident, and the summerhouse was well alight on arrival. Crews used compressed air foam to tackle the blaze. No casualties were reported, and the fire is believed to have spread from a nearby bonfire.
Following the incident, firefighters are urging the public to take extra care with bonfires and to light them well away from property, sheds, trees and foliage. You should also never leave them unattended, and keep them evenly built and to a manageable size.
