Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

One rescued after two-car crash - Nettlestead, near Maidstone
Incident details
Firefighters using hydraulic rescue equipment have freed a woman who was trapped by the nature of her injuries, following a two-car crash on Maidstone Road, Nettlestead, near Maidstone. 
 
Crews stabilised the vehicles before using a hydraulic ram, cutters and spreaders to create space for paramedics to gain access to the casualty. Firefighters then assisted with removal of the casualty to the air ambulance for further treatment. 
 
Note: earlier information suggested three vehicles involved, this has now been amended.
