Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Fire in a field of cut corn near Rochester
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a cut corn field fire in Hermitage Lane, Higham near Rochester. Four fire engines and a bulk water carrier attended, and crews extinguished the fire, which covered an area of approximately 100m x 200m, using hose reel jets and beaters. There were no reported casualties and the cause is not yet known.
