Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Fence fire in Dane Valley, Margate
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at a property in Christopher Close, in Dane Valley, Margate. 
 
Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and main jets to extinguish the flames. 
 
It’s believed the incident started accidentally when a grass fire spread to a garden fence. The flames caused heat damage to the side of a neighbouring house, which had filled with smoke. 
 
No casualties were reported.
