Large fire at warehouses in Ramsgate

Firefighters are still at the scene of a large fire involving warehouses in Monkton Street, Ramsgate. The incident was reduced to two fire engines at 8.30pm and one fire engine remained at the scene throughout the night, using a hose reel to damp down. It is anticipated that the incident will be handed over to the owner at around 9am after a final assessment has been made.
Residents are advised that is no longer necessary to keep windows and doors closed due to the fire in Monkton Street, Ramsgate. Firefighters remain on the scene of the blaze involving a range of storage buildings that have been destroyed by fire. Crews worked hard to bring the fire under control and to prevent the fire from spreading to further property. They also salvaged farm equipment. Crews are using a water shuttle and have ground monitors in place cooling the boundary of the fire. Firefighters are likely to be at the scene for some time dealing with the aftermath of the blaze. The road has now reopened. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
