Ashford

Firefighters were called to reports of a derelict former school building on fire in Stanhope Road, Ashford. Upon arrival they found the building well alight with smoke issuing.

Two fire engines were initially sent to the scene, however the size of the incident meant that additional resources were quickly dispatched. Crews wearing breathing apparatus fought the fire with main jets and a height platform.

There are no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire has not yet been established.
