Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of an out of control bonfire in Wittersham, Tenterden.

Two fire engines attended and crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the bonfire.

There are no reported injuries.

Crews are advising that if you're planning a bonfire, to remember:

• Stay with the bonfire at all times
• Keep it to a manageable size
• Always keep a means of extinguishing close to hand - like a bucket of water or a hose

Lastly, if the bonfire gets out of control, move to a safe place and call 999.
