An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, and a report will be prepared for the coroner. At this stage, the circumstances are not being treated as suspicious.
Update at 7pm on Monday 29 December:
Firefighting operations are now complete in White Admiral Way, in Hamstreet, Ashford, following yesterday's house fire.
Crews have left the scene, and duty of care has been passed to Kent Police.
The investigation into the cause remains ongoing.
Update at 2.15pm on Monday 29 December:
Emergency services remain at the scene of a house fire in White Admiral Way, in Hamstreet, Ashford, where sadly a young teenage girl died.
KFRS’ technical rescue unit is in attendance and crews are continuing to make the property structurally safe.
An investigation into the cause is ongoing, with assistance from Kent Police.
KFRS’ Volunteer Response Team is also at the scene to offer support to affected residents and welfare for crews.
Ann Millington, KFRS’ Chief Executive, said: “Our thoughts and deepest condolences remain with anyone affected by this tragic incident, and we’d like to extend our thanks to the local community for their support and understanding while operations continue.

Firefighters have extinguished all remaining hot spots at the scene of a house fire in White Admiral Way, in Hamstreet, Ashford.
KFRS’ technical rescue unit is in attendance, as well as two fire engines, and crews are working to make the property structurally safe.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
Update at 9pm on Sunday 28 December
Crews are continuing to dampen down hotspots at the scene of a house fire which started earlier today in White Admiral Way, in Hamstreet, Ashford.
At the height of the incident six fire engines and a height vehicle attended. Sadly, one child died at the scene, and another child and adult were taken to hospital.
Three firefighters also suffered minor injuries, attended hospital and have since been released.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently ongoing.
Update at 5.45pm on Sunday 28 December
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called today to reports of a house fire in White Admiral Way, in Hamstreet, Ashford.
Control operators sent six fire engines and a height vehicle to the semi-detached property, where crews worked hard to extinguish an intense fire, which had spread throughout the home.
Sadly, one child died at the scene, and another has been taken to hospital.
People living or travelling near the Hamstreet area are no longer being advised to close windows and doors. The incident has been reduced to two fire engines and crews are continuing to dampen down. Our Volunteer Response Team are in attendance offering crew welfare and support.
