Bring your expertise, curiosity and ambition, and see the difference you can make.
What is the vision?
Our vision is a connected, resilient and intelligence-led service, where people, data and technology work together to anticipate risk, make smarter decisions and deliver lasting improvements for colleagues, customers and communities.
A message from Steve Evans, Assistant Director Transformation
Our vision is for a connected, resilient and intelligence-led service: one that understands risk earlier, makes confident decisions and equips our people to deliver outstanding outcomes for our customers. Joining us at this defining point offers the opportunity to turn strategic ambition into practical, lasting change.
Strategic Performance and Insights
The work of the Strategic Performance and Insights team will inform our priorities and decisions. We want to understand not only what has happened, but why, what may happen next and where intervention can make the greatest difference. Strong data ownership, quality and analytical capability will create trusted, reusable intelligence that supports professional judgement, improves performance and directs resources where they are needed most. These foundations are also essential to effective automation and the responsible use of AI.
Information Technology
The Information Technology team will provide the secure, resilient infrastructure that makes all this possible. By modernising technology, connecting systems and strengthening cyber resilience, we will make information more accessible and enable services to work together. Alongside this, we will build colleagues’ confidence and skills to make fuller use of digital tools, reducing duplication and administration and making everyday work simpler, safer and more productive.
Digital Discovery
The Digital Discovery team will connect these capabilities to the needs of frontline and corporate colleagues and the customers they serve. Working with them, we will use insight to understand their experiences, identify barriers and test opportunities for improvement. This will guide service redesign and establish where technology, automation or AI can add value, shaping both our data requirements and technology investment.
Portfolio and Business Change
Our purpose is to turn strategic ambition and business need into coordinated, lasting change. We work with colleagues to understand the problems they need to solve, discover better digital and business ways of working, and translate those needs into clear, achievable change. Through strong portfolio, programme and project management, the Portfolio and Business Change team helps the service make the right investments, sequence work realistically and deliver with confidence. By supporting adoption, embedding change and keeping benefits in view, it ensures improvements are sustained and make a meaningful difference for colleagues, customers and communities.
All part of one team
Transformation will bring these disciplines together through one coordinated portfolio, aligning priorities, investment and dependencies. Digital Discovery will define the problems to solve; Strategic Performance and Insights will inform decisions and measure results; Information Technology will enable reliable solutions; and Portfolio and Business Change will help colleagues adopt and sustain new ways of working. Strong leadership, open collaboration and a curious, accountable culture will turn this shared effort into measurable, lasting benefits.
We are looking for talented, purposeful people who can connect strategy with delivery, bring clarity to complexity and build trusted relationships across the service. If you combine professional expertise with a commitment to public service, you will help shape capabilities that endure beyond individual programmes and make a visible difference to colleagues, customers, communities and the future of the service.
