Kent Fire and Rescue Service has been called to reports of a chip pan fire at an industrial building down the high street in Whitstable.

Two fire engines were in attendance, crews used a dry powder extinguisher and fire blanket to extinguish the flames.

Firefighters treated one person at the scene for minor burns. No other injuries were reported.

Following the incident, crews are reminding people never to leave cooking unattended and to make sure hobs, ovens and grills are clean and clear of anything which could catch alight.
