Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) is responding to a house fire in Vincent Road, Dartford. KFRS' Emergency Control Centre was alerted to the blaze at 6.35pm and three fire engines were immediately sent. Fortunately, the property had working smoke alarms which alerted the man to the fire. He immediately got the three children safely out and into the care of a neighbour, then attempted to tackle the fire using water and an extinguisher.Fire crews arrived to find smoke billowing out of the property. They went into the house wearing breathing apparatus and used a covering jet and a special fan to tackle the fire, which was located at the top of the stairs on the landing. Crews are currently clearing smoke and fumes from the house.KFRS’ Volunteer Response Team and a Red Cross vehicle have been requested to provide practical support for the family, who also received precautionary checks from firefighters. Two men were taken to hospital for precautionary checks.If you are able to avoid the Vincent Road area while crews deal with the incident it would be appreciated.
