Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a chimney fire at a house in Grange Road, Saltwood in Hythe.
Three fire engines and a height vehicle attended and crews used chimney gear and hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
There were no reported injuries, and the cause is believed to be accidental.
Crews are reminding people to have their chimneys regularly swept to prevent a build up, which can then cause fires.
