Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a garden fire in Shorncliffe Road, Folkestone.

Two fire engines attended, and crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

It’s believed the fire started accidentally after a flammable liquid was used to ignite a fire pit, which spread to a fence and a shed.

Two people sustained minor burns and were left in the care of SECAmb.

Always take care when lighting any outdoor fire, follow manufacturer’s instructions on how to light it safely, and make sure it’s positioned well away from any property or greenery.
