Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire in a lounge at a house in Folkestone.

Two fire engines were sent to the semi-detached home in Jointon Road, where crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

One person was passed into the care of SECAmb paramedics and it's thought to have been accidental, caused by logs being stored too close to a log burner.

Following this incident crews are reminding people to always keep or store log baskets, wood, paper and other flammable items away from the chimney. Too close and they can catch fire!
