Firefighting operations at this incident are now complete.

Crews are no longer advising people to avoid the area due to road closures on the High Street in Northfleet.

At the height of the incident, eight fire engines, a height vehicle, and a bulk water carrier attended, and crews used main and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

The KFRS Volunteer Response Team also attended, assisting crews and affected residents.

There are no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.

Crews are continuing to advise those travelling in the Northfleet area to avoid the High Street due to road closures from firefighting operations.

Two fire engines and a height vehicle are in attendance, extinguishing the few remaining hotspots.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews are advising those travelling in the Northfleet area to avoid the High Street due to road closures on the junction between Hive Road and Lawn Road.

The closure is a safety measure due to ongoing firefighting operations.

People living or travelling near Northfleet, Gravesend, are no longer being advised to keep windows and doors closed following smoke from a fire at a derelict building. Crews are no longer advising people travelling to avoid the area.

Crews are making good progress, five fire engines, and a height vehicle remain in attendance.

People are also being advised to avoid the area.
