Crews are no longer advising people living in the area of Gravesend and Tilbury to keep windows and doors shut due to smoke in the area.

Two fire engines and a height vehicle remain in attendance. Crews are continuing to dampen down the scene and are extinguishing hot spots using hoses with ground monitors.

The incident is continuing and further updates will come.

Crews are advising people living in the area of Gravesend and Tilbury, that the smoke is currently not affecting the area.

Three fire engines are in attendance, and crews are making good progress to extinguish the flames. Crews expect to be on the scene for the next 24 hours.

People living near Gravesend are still being advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke coming from a fire at a scrap yard.

Due to changes in wind, the smoke may travel further, however crews are still at the scene, working to extinguish the fire.

Crews are advising residents and those travelling through Gravesend town centre and Northfleet to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke in the area and changes in wind direction.

Four fire engines are in attendance and crews are continuing to make good progress extinguishing the flames whilst working with site managers. Crews continue to monitor the incident and further updates will be provided.

Crews are continuing to advise residents and those travelling through Gravesend town centre to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke in the area. 

The large plume of smoke is also affecting the Tilbury area, within the borough of Thurrock in Essex, and residents there are also being advised to keep their windows and doors shut.

Four fire engines are in attendance and crews are making good progress to extinguish the flames. Crews continue to monitor the incident and further updates will be provided.

Crews continue to advise people living or travelling in Gravesend town centre to close their windows and doors. This area is currently being affected by the large plume of smoke in Northfleet at the Crete Hall Road incident. 

Five fire engines and a command support unit are now in attendance, and crews, using mains jets are making steady progress to extinguish the flames.

Crews are expecting to remain in attendance to monitor the incident for the next 48 hours, updates will be provided.
