Update at 10.00am:

Crews remain at the scene of a house fire on Tonbridge Road, Maidstone monitoring for any hot spots. 

An investigation is now underway to try and determine the cause of the fire. 

 

Update at 7.00am:

Crews have made good progress to extinguish a house fire on Tonbridge Road in Maidstone, and are dampening down remaining hotspots.

One fire engine is at the scene and Tonbridge Road has been reopened.

People living or working near Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, are no longer advised to close windows and doors, following a house fire.

Six fire engines remain at the scene, where crews are continuing to make good progress with extinguishing the flames.
