Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports that a man had possibly fallen into the River Medway, near the Esplanade, Strood at 4.04am. Fire crews were quickly on the scene supported by KFRS' inshore boat and fire launch.Firefighters, the Coastguard Agency and Kent Police carried out a search of the area. Fire crews used thermal imaging cameras and lighting to safely locate the man on a river bank and he was passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service.
