Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire inside a derelict building in Gillingham, at the junction of Marlborough Road and Brompton Road. Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to put the fire out. A high pressure fan was used to clear the building of smoke. There were no reported casualties and the fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
